While Nakanoshima is a “town” where attractive content is concentrated, it is also a lesser-known area in Osaka than the so-called “Kita” and “Minami”. Creative Island Nakanoshima will be hosting a three-part symposium on the theme of Mirai, Manabi and Living in Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka, where guests from various fields will be held. Unravel the present of Nakanoshima from every perspective and portray the future with urban creativity and sustainable network models. In anticipation of the Osaka and Kansai Expo held in 2025, we will try to create dialogue about the charter vision of this project with clues to think about the future.

Part 1: 00-15: 00
Nakanoshima of Mirai
Part 1 is the main symposium, and we will discuss the potential of Nakanoshima to become a special cultural zone in Osaka. At the Mirai Nakanoshima, Mr. Mami Kataoka, Chairman of the CIMAM (International Museum of Art) and Director of the Mori Art Museum, will present a vision for the future of Nakanoshima together with Chairperson Nishio and other executive committee members on the significance of urban creation and international business from an international perspective, and the challenges and prospects of art and culture during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nakanoshima of Manabi
Nakanoshima is expected to be an island that fosters knowledge, sensibilities, and curiosity open to various people, not only for adults but also for future leaders accompanying the opening of the Children's Book Forest Nakanoshima. “Nakanoshima of Manabi” invites Sachiko Nakajima, a STEAM educator and producer of the Osaka and Kansai Expo, to discuss the potential as a place for education in Nakanoshima.

Living and Nakanoshima
Nakanoshima, an island full of cultural assets such as Historic buildings, cultural facilities, corporate buildings, parks and waterfronts, can be seen from the perspective of consumers and consumers? In “Living and Nakanoshima,” guests will be invited by Masami Takemura, editor-in-chief, and Masanori Masui of The Asahi Shimbun Company, to discuss the creativity of Nakanoshima everyday from the perspective of media and publicity.
