In February last year, the first memorable "Nakanoshima Promotion" was created by artists Naohiro Ukawa and vocalist Salyu. You can see the "Historical Auditorium" in Osaka City Central Public Hall, a modern architecture of important cultural properties that can be said to be a symbol of Nakanoshima, the "Night Skyscraper" with the night view of Nakanoshima, and the "Water City" set in the scenery of Nakanoshima from the boatConrad Osaka itself.
This time, we went back to a year ago and had a special three-way talk with the secret story of the creation and the screening.

In fact, Nakanoshima is not well known to be an island in Osaka. Mr. Ukawa, who traveled around the area from both land and waterways, says Nakanoshima is a place where various cultures from tradition to pop culture mix and interact.
I felt that the exchange of commerce consciousness and culture connected from Edo, and the entertainment created there was made up of the exchange and branching of the river surrounded by greenery. I wanted to realize a project where it was integrated.
I wanted to create a worldview that mixes the mixture of microorganisms and organic matter lurking in water quality, and the fusion of history, economy and culture that has continued since Edo.

Urban promotion on “Creative Experimental Island” has opened up new possibilities with Ukawa Direction based on original ideas and vocal performances by Salyu. In January 2021, the trilogy produced just before declaration of a state of emergency during the COVID-19 pandemic is an inpro creation, in which location hunting, planning, performance, recording, and photography are performed in half a day in a space without spectators. This work seems to have been an unprecedented experience for Salyu.
There was a sense of collage of what is only present (voice) to what remains there (space) where space and sound communicate.
It was a performance that was established because it was a venue for no audience.

The flow of the two rivers surrounding Nakanoshima is not the same for a moment, but it conveys the flow of pulsating from ancient times to modern times. We hope you will meet the new Nakanoshima through the “Creative Experimental Island” where you can glimpse the culture and spirituality of each era in various parts of the city and the “NAKANOSHIMA PERFORMING SCAPE” which is a record of the communication of Salyu’s voice.
