Creative Island Nakanoshima’s creative content is set on a unique Avenue in Nakanoshima by artists active in Japan and overseas through research. This project aims to spread the charm of Nakanoshima around the world through the chemical reaction of urban landscapes and artist creativity.

Creative Island Nakanoshima's main visual Rika Noguchi (2020-)

The main visual of the top screen of the project website for this project is a two-piece set by Rika Noguchi, a photographer who is known for his unique sense of distance from the subject. From 2018 to 2019, Noguchi toured Nakanoshima on foot, by bicycle, boat, etc., carefully selected two sets of works taken on a Cessna aircraft from several different angles.

The imaginary image of Chushu, which was created by the east end on the left side of the screen and the west end on the right side of the Nakanoshima side, symbolizes the efforts of this network project, rooted in the concept of "creative experimental island".

Unique Beneu Creation Naohiro Ukawa x Salyu (2020-)

Located between Dojima River and Tosabori River, Nakanoshima is a place where the history and nature of the city intersect, with modern architecture representing Osaka, a skyscraper tower overlooking the night view, and waterside scenery. For creative content for 2020, Tomohiro Ukawa, Director of DOMMUNE, selected three songs about three locations, rivers and waterfronts that symbolize Nakanoshima from a unique perspective, creating three original images and music works.

The original promotional video "NAKANOSHIMA PERFORMING SCAPE" is a chemical reaction between the direction set by Mr. Ukawa's sharp insight, the singing voice of the vocalist Salyu with a unique presence and the three urban landscapes that symbolize NakanoshimaNakanoshima's history, waterside and night view.

Nakanoshima Research by Toshiki Okada (2018-)

Since fiscal 2021, when creative content began in earnest, we have been developing projects that utilize meeting points scattered throughout the Nakanoshima together with Toshiki Okada and Creative Unit graf, headed by the theater unit Chelfitche.

Okada, who continues to present works that capture modern society through unique language and physical expression, explores the possibilities of creation using words and letters related to the invisible stratum of Nakanoshima, unknown stories, and unique urban landscapes. Please enjoy the future creative process in our web report.
