"Nakanoshima captured by photographers"

Rika Noguchi (Photographer)


Rika Noguchi, a photographer known for his photographic work with a unique sense of distance from the subject, who is sometimes referred to as the "eye of Gentiles", visited Nakanoshima and captured Nakanoshima from a unique perspective and tried to produce his work.
On foot, by boat, by bicycle, tour in different time zones such as morning and evening, photographing Nakanoshima in various seasons. In addition, we researched places where we could overlook Nakanoshima, photographed from high-rise buildings and aerial photography on a Cessna aircraft. In addition, we tried to shoot in close contact with Nakanoshima river cleaning boats and people cleaning the park.

●Potential for future development
We are considering creating public relations materials (posters, flyers, etc.) that promote the town of Nakanoshima itself, and developing photographic works selected through development work as the main image of the publicity materials.

Rika Noguchi Rika Noguchi

Born in Saitama Prefecture in 1971. Graduated from the Department of Photography at Nihon University in 1994, and after staying in Berlin for 12 years, he has been based in Okinawa since 2016. He has exhibited his works at exhibitions in Japan and overseas, including the Saitama Triennale 2016 and the 21st Sydney Biennale 2018. His works are housed in the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, the The National Museum of Art, Osaka, the Guggenheim Museum (New York), and the Pompidou Center (Paris).
