In 2024, Creative Island Nakanoshima presented Stories of 15 Places in Nakanoshima by Toshiki Okada, playwright, novelist and director of the theater company chelfitsch. At the Meeting Points located in 15 places over Nakanoshima, visitors can actually pick up and read 15 original stories that are set in the waterfront environment, cultural facilities and skyscrapers of Nakanoshima, in which historical cultures from the past till present and futuristic feel of sci-fi coexist.
This autumn, the stories will develop as a new creation.
AR illustrations will be created for all of the stories, by artists, creators and through open call, using the Spatial Layer Platform STYLY. We will be creating a new form of narrative experience where the real and virtual coexist.
We will be calling for illustration art for the following 4 stories.
1. “Which One is Me?” Osaka Science Museum ▶︎▶︎ Read here
2. “Figurine of a Lady” The Museum of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka ▶︎▶︎ Read here
3. “A Magical Ship” Nakanoshima Children’s Book Forest ▶︎▶︎ Read here
4. “Underground Passage in Front of Art Area B1” Art Area B1 ▶︎▶︎ Read here
We look forward to your submissions that will add a new touch of color to the stories.
