At the "Osaka Art & Design 2024," an event in which Kansai creators gather together to exhibit and sell valuable works that have not yet been available on the market, will be held at Art Area B1 on the first basement floor of Keihan Naniwabashi station. "Osaka Art & Design" (hereinafter "OAD"), which will be held for the second year, is a project that aims to showcase the creative appeal of Osaka to the world and revitalize the art and design scene in the Kansai region. This exhibition, which was launched in response to the theme of OAD 2024, "Resonance-Expansion of Resonance-", will build new connections between creators active mainly in the Kansai region, and create seeds for future creation by crossing diverse talents.
What is the HIZO market OSAKA Art & Design 2024?
In this exhibition, we will display and sell unpublished works created by creators through trial and error, as well as valuable works that have been treasured so far. This will be a special opportunity for renowned designers and creators such as Tomoaki Murata, Ken Miki, Shigeki Hattori, Toshikatsu Yanari, and Nari Eguchi (honorific title omitted) to purchase valuable works that are not usually available. This exhibition can be viewed and purchased online, and will be introduced to Japan and overseas as a new creative market. The logo and design direction of this exhibition will be created by Ken Miki, a leading graphic designer in Kansai, who is also an exhibitor, and will form the identity of the "HIZO market". In addition, the works on display will be archived as books, presented to creators and sold. Of the total profits obtained through this exhibition, the amount after deducting operating expenses will be donated to the affected areas of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024. Choosing works on the HIZO market is not only an opportunity to enjoy art, but also to support areas affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake and to foster creativity for creators. Please look forward to this exhibition as a treasure trove of creation that you haven't seen yet, as well as for this exhibition, which fosters new connections across generations and industries.
