“Laser cooling,” which allows light to cool atoms to close to absolute zero, and “Bose Einstein condensation,” in which a large number of cold atoms behave like a single wave, were both realized in experiments at the end of the 20th century, but Einstein saw a lot of things long ago. What is the origin of Einstein's idea that draws surprising conclusions from simple arguments?
What did you actually know in the experiment? Professor Shin Inoue of Osaka City University will explain in an easy-to-understand manner.
