Toshiki Okada
Born in Yokohama in 1973 and lives in Kumamoto. Drama writer, novelist and president of Chelfitche. Activities are regarded as overturning the conventional concept of theater and are attracting attention both at home and abroad. Major awards include the 49th Kishida Kunio Drama Award for "Five Days in March", the 2nd Kenzaburo Oe Award for his novel collection "The End of a Special Time Allowed for us", and the 27th Yomiuri Drama Grand Prize Selection Committee Special Award for "Plat Tanner: Portrait of Possession", and the 72nd Yomiuri Literature Prize Drama and Scenario Award for "Untrained Ghosts and Monsters" for "Tsuruga". His main books include "The Theatrical Theory for Retrospective Transformation" and "Current Location" (both Kawade Shobo Shinsha). Since 2016, he has been directing the repertoire of Germany's leading public theater, Munich Kampashpile for four seasons, and in 2020 his latest work, The Vacuum Cleaner, was selected as one of the "10 remarkable works" of the German theater festival Theatertreffen.
