Railway Art Festival vol.0-10 “Recreation 2: Future Starting with Records of Exhibitions” 15th Anniversary of Art Area B1 Opening

What is "Railway Art Festival"?
Railway Art Festival is an annual exhibition held in Art Area B1 since 2010. “Railways” have advanced technologies and attractions, such as vehicles, railway maps, railway tracks, station buildings and platforms, as well as culture and history associated with them. This project, which takes advantage of the characteristics of the station concourse, captures the appeal of railways and the technologies, culture, history, etc. related to it from various angles, and holds experimental exhibitions in collaboration with artists for 12 years.

"Re-Creation 2 - the future starting with the record of the exhibition"
Since last fiscal year, Railway Art Festival has been developing plans for two years based on a 12-year record of vol.0 to 10. In the first year, a document exhibition was held entitled "Re-Creation-10 Dialogues over Exhibition Records". We held 10 dialogues with experts from various fields such as editing, planning, archive, media, contemporary art, literature, philosophy, and design as media partners, and examined the themes and methods of the archive for the second year.
This year, the second year of this year, we edited archived images of Railway Art Festival's exhibitions, talks and train performances, and screened them in Art Area B1 during the exhibition period. In addition, we will invite curators, critics and researchers in their 20s and 30s, who will lead the next generation, to hold workshops to criticize Railway Art Festival. We will explore the possibilities of contemporary art in Art Area B1 after the completion of Railway Art Festival, so to speak, NEXT Teppei.

*Details of guests and events will be released at a later date.
