The career of Kobe-born artist Kazuyo Kinoshita began with her involvement in the activities of the avant-garde art group "Group [Position] " in the 1960s. In the 1970s, she worked on numerous works examining the relationship between images, perception, and materiality while using photography. Her extremely intellectual approach resonated with the global trend of Conceptual Art of the same period and was highly acclaimed in Europe. In the 1980s, she shifted his expressive focus to abstract painting. Each stroke of his paintings, created while sharply questioning her senses, possesses a high level of tension, making it a culmination of her expression.
This exhibition will be the largest solo exhibition of Kinoshita's work to date. It will introduce her activities from her very early works to her representative works, and her final works, providing a comprehensive overview of her expression.
