The International Exhibition "Advanced Technology in Japanese and European Theatre," presents significant theatrical works from Europe (Germany, England, Czech Republic) and Japan, representing a critical point in the fusion of theatre and science.
This exhibition arises from an interest in the ways in which the diversity generated through theater, drama, and technology reveals patterns of human relationships to the world.
From the world's first Robot Theater by Oriza Hirata, and an Android production by the world-renowned theatre company Rimini Protokoll, to the latest technology that allows visitors to experience virtual reality without VR Headset 3D Glasses, all this and more will be on display at the exhibition at the University of Osaka Nakanoshima Arts Center.
Showcasing the intersection of advanced technology and the performing arts, the exhibition highlights how contemporary innovations are opening new avenues for artistic experimentation and addressing modern social themes within the 21st-century theatre landscape.
This exhibition will be on display from September 16th to November 16th, 2025, and is being held as part of the "Nakanoshima Pavilion Festival 2025" in conjunction with the Kansai World EXPO 2025.
◇ During the exhibition, a symposium will be held on 21 October.
A cross-talk will be held between the moderator/director and various researchers on the theme of “Advanced Technologies and Human Life: Toward the issue of life forms and perceptions in art.”
