The "Now of Art Museums" is a series of dialogues on the current situation that shakes the foundation of the museum, "seeing and experiencing raw works" caused by the spread of COVID-19 infection.
Shinya Sato, Director of the Hachinohe City Museum of Art, will be invited. The Hachinohe City Museum of Art, which opened in 1986 and closed for full rebuilding in 2017, opened its grand opening on November 3 and incorporates elements of town development and learning, focusing on about 3,000 collections. We aim to be a "art museum for everyone" through exhibitions and projects that incorporate. Director Sato talked about the concept of the new museum, "Art Farm for Encounter and Learning," and the opening commemorative project "Gifts, Gifts," while discussing the "now" of the COVID-19 pandemic and the future of the museum.
