Keihan Line Cafe "Fukakusa with eternal history-Local charm seen from the Kamogawa Canal-"

"Keihan Line Cafe" introduces hot spots along the Keihan Line from the viewpoint of history and culture.
In the sixth installment, we will focus on the Fukakusa area of Fushimi-ku, Kyoto, which is blessed with rich nature, as well as being known as a land with a deep history where many historic sites are scattered. One of the famous spots in the Fukakusa area is the Kamogawa Canal, which runs north and south through the center of the area. The Kamogawa Canal is the name of the Lake Biwa Canal, which is about 9 km in length from the cold spring water outlet in Sakyo-ku to joining the Hori River in Fushimi-ku.
With a history of more than 120 years, it is a valuable civil engineering heritage associated with modernization, and is closely linked to local living and living, and its accumulation forms value as a local resource. In the talk, we will introduce the charm of the Fukakusa area from various viewpoints, centering on the Kamogawa Canal.
