"Sakuya This Flower Award" presented by Osaka City to artists who should be responsible for the future Osaka culture. This is the first solo exhibition by Aki Kojima, the winner of the 2020 Blooming and this Flower Award Art Division. From my experience of being involved in life and death as a nurse for about 10 years before starting artistic activities, you can see the work of Mr. Aki Kojima, who continues to produce using various media on the theme of life.

Born in Osaka. After working as a nurse in an operating room or intensive care unit, he began artistic activities. With the aim of exploring anima through life-long production activities, he has been working on the theme of life using a variety of media over the past few years. Graduated from Kansai Medical University Nursing College in 2002. Graduated from the Department of Design at Osaka University of Arts in 2016. After working at a hospital for about 10 years as a nurse, he has a unique background that has advanced to art.He has consistently pursued the themes of "what is oneself" and "what is soul" acquired through his daily life experiences related to life and death, and has published philosophical works based on interviews with third parties and deep speculation in a mixed media method that combines paintings, videos, three-dimensional and performance. Flexible selection of production methods, awareness of problems backed by social experience, and high sensitivity to modern society have led to the strength of contemporary art. Although he has a short career, he is a writer who should pay attention to future developments.
