"Ise Monogatari", which spells the life of a man who is said to be Narihira Ariwarano (825-880) with a song, revolves around the love of a man in a mixture of fiery and realism. The 125-dan short story that inspired readers' imagination was painted shortly after it was established, and a picture of "Ise Monogatari" appears in "The Tale of Genji".
The Kosetsu Museum of Art holds important colored paper paintings and manuscripts related to "Ise Monogatari". The 17 "Ise Monogatari Color Paper (Kayukimoto)" is Ryosaku following the oldest existing "Ise Monogatari Emaki" (Kuboso Memorial Museum of Arts, Izumi) in the coloring picture scroll, and is one of the few real images of Ise Monogatari paintings in the Middle Ages It is valuable in knowing.
In addition, the majority of the manuscripts of "Ise Monogatari" are the lines edited by Sadaie Fujiwara (Sadaie book), but the manuscripts of the Kosetsu Museum of Art differ from the Sadaie book, and the description of "koto" can be seen in the 49th stage. It has a very rare text.
In this exhibition, we will learn about "Ise Monogatari", enjoy the picture, and think about the style and production time of Kayukimoto. At the same time, we will also look at the transition of Ise Monogatari-e, which has been handed down since ancient times. We hope that you will enjoy the life of a man who has been loved for more than a thousand years.
In addition, as a special display, "The Tale of Genji picture scroll (Soriyasubon)" called "Phantom The Tale of Genji picture scroll" will be introduced mainly to the words "Kenkimaki" which has been discovered in recent years.
