This exhibition focuses on works that deal with the theme of “home” by eight Japanese and international contemporary artists, including Andro Wekua and Kei Takemura. Based on keywords such as history, memory, identity, place, and family conditions and roles, these works shed light on the meaning on home, nation, and family as well as the changes and universality of the regions and societies that we are a part of. The exhibition’s title refers to the special comforts of home, and in viewing the works, we are likely to reflect on our own “home sweet home” within the context of bitter social realities.
