Temporary Exhibition
The Teabowls of Chanoyu

Tea bowls have been valued as essential tea utensils, as they are the direct tools for guests to drink tea at the tea ceremony. They also reflect the aesthetic sense of the tea ceremony of each period. This exhibition traces the development of the tea ceremony in Japan through approximately 70 tea bowls from the Nakanoshima Kosetsu Museum of Art's collection.
