It opened in Expo'70 Commemorative Park in 1977 and moved to western Nakanoshima in 2004. Held a variety of projects centered on contemporary art, collecting excellent works showing art trends in Japan and overseas, mainly since 1945. Designed by American-based architect Cesar Pelli.
The National Museum of Art, Osaka is an art museum that opened in Banpaku Park in 1977. In 2004, we moved to the current location of the Nakanoshima area. We hold 3-4 Special Exhibition each year, focusing on contemporary art in Japan and overseas, and a collection exhibition introducing works from about 8,200 collections.

Located on the waterside of Nakanoshima, Osaka, it is a "fully underground" museum that is rare in the world. The exterior design is designed to provide a more comfortable place to appreciate, with the image of the vitality of bamboo and the development and growth of contemporary art, and by establishing a public zone that creates interaction between people and art. Designed by American architect Cesar Pelli from Argentina.

The National Museum of Art, Osaka collects mainly contemporary art from home and abroad since 1945. Paintings, sculptures, prints, photographs, etc. occupy a large number, but especially in recent years, we have been working on collecting works in new genres such as video and performance. These collections are mainly introduced to the collection exhibition.

B1F Public Space is an open space where you can feel free to touch art. The atrium from B1F to B2F shows permanent exhibition works by Joan Miró, Alexander Calder and Yoshihiro Suda. In addition, the museum shop has a wide selection of original goods that make you want to make souvenirs and popular classic products, as well as art-related books such as catalogs of exhibitions. Please feel free to drop in.
