Opened in 2018, following the main building in Mikage, Kobe. We introduce antiques from Japan and East Asia, including armor, Buddhist art, medieval paintings, and tea utensils collected by Ryo Ryohei Murayama, the founder of the Asahi Shimbun. There is also a reproduction exhibition of the existing tea room "Nakanoshima Gennan " in Kyuumurayamakejuutaku Yokan. Many ambitious special exhibition are also held.
Creation of a new “Yamai in the City”
It is an art museum where you can create a serene and magnificent space in a skyscraper in a business district and enjoy art. In the world of tea ceremony, the creation of "Yamai in the city" is to run Soan while staying in the city and enjoy the quiet state of the mountains. This is the theme of Nakanoshima Kosetsu Museum of Art's goal.

Protecting Japanese culture and art and passing it on to future generations
The collection of old Japanese and East Asian artworks collected by Ryohei Murayama, the founder of the Asahi Shimbun. The collection includes weapons such as swords and armor, Buddhist art, calligraphy, medieval and modern paintings, and tea utensils, and a wide variety of special exhibition.

Introducing Ryohei Murayama's life through valuable exhibits, large chronology, commentary panels and video. It is also introduced in a diorama model of the existing nationally designated important cultural property "Kyuumurayamakejuutaku Yokan" and a reproduction exhibition of the living room on the second floor of the Western-style building. The history of Nakanoshima, the birthplace of the Asahi Shimbun, and changes in the company building are also exhibited in chronological tables and panel materials.

The tea room "Nakanoshima Nakanoshima Gennan"
The Nakanoshima Gennan tea room built in Kyuumurayamakejuutaku Yokan, a nationally designated important cultural property, is reproduced in full scale.
Nakanoshima Kosetsu Museum of Art is the first attempt to recreate not only the tea room but also the entire open space. You can see exhibits that combine traditional craftsmanship with modern technology such as spatial production using video and lighting.
