Born in 1958 to host international music festivals comparable to U.K. Edinburgh and Salzburg, Austria. Since then, Osaka International Festival has been held every year and celebrated its 63rd time in 2025. The acoustic characteristic, which is called "sound descends from heaven", has been praised by many artists. Reopened in Nakanoshima Festival Tower in 2013.
In 1958, when there was no hall suitable for performing arts, Festival Hall was established in Nakanoshima, Osaka as a hall where international music festivals comparable to art festivals in Edinburgh and Salzburg were held.

“Osaka International Festival” has been held every spring since its opening, and the performers are Karajan, Bernstein, Berliner Philharmoniker, the Vienna Philharmonic, Vienna State Opera and La Scala, Milan.

It closed temporarily at the end of December 2008 for rebuilding, but a new Festival Hall opened in April 2013. While maintaining the acoustic characteristics called "the sound drops from the ceiling" and the scale of the stage frontage of 30 meters and 2,700 seats, we have evolved while inheriting the tradition of the old hall, such as the latest stage equipment and the more comfortable seats.

When you enter the front entrance of the building, the impressive large staircase leading to the entrance foyer of the hall welcomes visitors. When you go up the stairs and arrive at the main foyer with a gentle slope escalator, there is a dynamic space with a three-layer atrium structure.
