Born in 1958 to hold international music festivals comparable to music festivals in U.K. Edinburgh and Salzburgh, Austria. Since then, Osaka International Festival has been held every year and celebrated its 63rd anniversary in 2025. The acoustic characteristics, which are called "sound pouring from heaven," have been praised by many artists. Reopened in Nakanoshima Festival Tower in 2013.
In 1958, when there was no hall suitable for holding highly artistic concerts, Festival Hall was established in Nakanoshima, Osaka, as an international music festival comparable to the festivals in Edinburgh and Salzburg.

Since its opening, Osaka International Festival has been held every spring since its opening, and the performers are Karajan, Bernstein, Berliner Philharmoniker, the Vienna Philharmonic, Vienna State Opera and La Scala, Milan.

It closed temporarily at the end of December 2008 for rebuilding, but a new Festival Hall opened in April 2013. While maintaining the sound characteristics called "sound pouring down from the ceiling" and the scale of 30 meters in front of the stage and 2,700 seats, we have evolved while inheriting the tradition of the old hall, including the latest stage equipment and more comfortable seats.

When you enter the front entrance of the building, an impressive large staircase leading to the hall entrance foyer welcomes visitors. As you go up the stairs and get to the main foyer with a gentle slope escalator, there is a dynamic space with a three-layer atrium structure.
