It opened in 1937 as Japan's first science museum, inheriting the Osaka Municipal Electrical Science Museum, which introduced Orient's first planetarium. Under the theme of "space and energy", this facility allows both adults and children to enjoy science at exhibitions, science shows, and planetariums.

Planetarium

The planetarium reflects not only a dome screen with a diameter of 26.5m, but also a starry sky close to the real thing and a powerful image of the universe. Specialist staff will give live commentary on the starry sky that can be seen at each time and occasional themes related to the universe, and invite you to the endless world of the universe.

Exhibition Hall

We introduce space, electricity, weather, history of science, various materials, etc. You can enjoy learning science with experimental equipment that can be touched and tested, and real materials collected by curators.
Exhibits unique to Osaka, such as reproduction exhibitions of the Museum of Electrical Science, Gakutennori, and OSAKA UNIVERSITY's physics research, are also powered up!

Science show

A live performance of a science experiment performed in front of you! There are plenty of experiments that everyone, from children to adults, can enjoy. Let's unravel the familiar mystery together!

Café, Twiice Square

It is a plaza with a cafe counter where you can relax while looking at Orient's first planetarium "Karl Twice II Projector" and related real materials. The night view panorama of Osaka in the 80's reproduced around is also a must-see!
