The importance of discussing the modern and sustainable future cities where more than half of the world's population lives in cities is emphasized. In 2025, ten years after the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development/SDGs by the United Nations, the Osaka-Kansai Expo "Design of a Future Society that Shines Life" will be held. At the same time, Nakanoshima, the symbol island of Osaka, will host the Nakanoshima Pavilion Festival 2025, which maximizes the appeal and potential of Shima, which has historical culture and waterside environments, unlike Kita and Minami.
Therefore, in the round table “Playable Island—Proposal of Creative Ideas to be Implemented in Nakanoshima,” we will call on young people who are looking for the future to create opportunities for sharing experiences and approaches that will lead to value creation on the island through play. We hope that the consciousness and values of each of us will change our behavior and become a gathering that will contribute to the community, the changes in regions and cities, and to foster them.
